Happy Antichrist Day!! Hail Satan!
08-09-2004
Hi. I'm still alive.
03-22-2004
Just got back from a business trip to Atlanta Georgia. Boy, that city is spread out. It was interesting to say the least. The landing coming back was interesting, the landing gear turning gizmo failed. So, I guess all in all I'm lucky to be updating this month ;).
12-16-2003
Well, I got my chinchillas. I named them Hebenus and Audacter. They are pretty cute lil buggers.
They certainly have their own personalities. I've been busy working this month, so it's been going by really quickly. My
parents are coming up for X-mas, so I'll be preping up for that. I promised my mom an X-mas tree, so I have to buy one
where. Bleh. I have to do X-mas shopping. I hate shopping, even without the X-mas rush. Oh well, such is life!
11-13-2003
My parents came up for a visit to go to the Simon and Garfunkel concert. I decided to tag along and see them too.
They are pretty neat live, if I do say so myself. I was rooting for a fight, but it didn't happen,
mores the pity. I'm getting two Chinchilla's! I'm told to expect them by
december 8th. I've been working with one of the local breeders who has a good reputation for such things, and she's been a real help. Check out her website for all kinds of interesting information about Chinchilla's. She's also very helpful in answering any questions that you have about them. I'm going to Steph's birthday
party this weekend so I'm preparing to be social. Ugh. Being social sucks. Anyway, my next update will most likely be when I
get the Chinchilla's, so you'll get two updates in a two month period! (Act excited.)
08-05-2003
Fourth was fun. I didn't get to set Steve on fire like I would have liked to, but oh well. I went out to Reno on July 24-27th for Sean's and Heather's wedding. It was pretty neat. Although, I must say, wearing a tux sucks. Reno
is a pretty neat town, not as flashy as vegas. It seems to have a personality beneath the fluff. The weather there was pretty good as well, hot without being humid. The wedding itself was interesting, it's the first one I've ever been in. I refrained from poking fun of the Catholic Priest. I'm so well behaved. Sean got really drunk. Once at
bachlor party and once at the reception. I've never seen him that drunk. I laughed. Cheers to Sean. Cheers to his attempt to carry the bride over the threshold of the honeymoon suite and falling down. Heh. Anyway, I could go on, but what happens in Reno stays in Reno. Or is that Las Vegas?
07-03-2003
Fourth Of July Plans:
CoWorker: "So what is everyone doing for the fourth?"
Me(aka nick): "Going out 4x4ing and blowing shit up."
Boss: "Going home and hiding from people like nick."
Steve: "Going out 4x4ing and getting blown up by nick."
06-06-2003
Hi. Not very much going on, mostly been working and such. You'd think in five months I'd have something special to put up here,
but I don't. I'm going to Reno in July for a wedding. Congrats to Heather and Sean, speaking of which. Other then that, not much
has been going on. I don't expect much to be happening either. HK SL8-1 is kind of put on the back burner for the time being, I
still need to sell the switch. Anyone want a Cabletron Smartswitch 6000 w/giga fiber(and other assorted goodies) for $2000? Drop a line. It seems many people are hitting my site for wardriving looking for open nodes. Interesting. Well, toodaloo.
01-21-2003
Finally updated mrmud.org so it's not just sitting there. Now it's my vanity website. YippySkippy. Not to much is happening
here, went 4x4ing with Kelly not to long ago and got muddy and wet. Saving up for my HK SL8-1, hopefully I'll be getting that soon.
I've had to decide on if I wanted an AR-15 instead of the SL8-1, but decided if I could find an SL8-1 for under $1100 then I'd buy
it rather then the AR. When I get it, I may post some pictures of me shooting the thing. I also got a cabletron smartswitch 6000, I plan to hawk that on E-bay for ~$2000, which will certainly jumpstart my savings for the SL8-1. Anyway, thats all for now.
10-03-2002
Ooops. So I've not updated in about 6 months. I've been busy, and I switched out this server. I've been to busy to install apache on this, but it's all good now. Not much been going on, as I said, mostly work. I did go 4x4ing and shooting with my friends this last weekend, that was fun. I'm going to try to plan to do a wardrive this weekend. We'll see how that pans out. Last time I went wardriving I found 139 nodes. Not bad, considering we didn't even go downtown.
03-19-2002
Seems as if some birdies have been talking and people from business have been coming to my website. You know who
you are. Anyway, since I was pestered by these said people to update this thing, I'm doing so. There's a misconception
out there, and that is that this thing is a diary. It's not, damit. A diary, to quote a dictionary, is "A daily record, especially a personal record of events, experiences, and observations; a journal."
Since this is not daily updated, and it's not exactly personal, it's NOT a diary! So stop calling it that! Anyway, onto the
news. Not much has been going on except working a lot on a particuler project (said people know what that is). I've finally
broke 50 in my dvd collection, and am now somewhere in the 60's. (i just realized how many movies that is). Other then that,
nothing much has been going on.
01-24-2002
Okay, so I did go out to detroit, but not to chicago. And the airports pretty much behaved the way
I expected them to. I had to take my shoes off (and this was before that dumbass with the shoe bomb). I had
to pull my laptop out of its case. I had to wait around in my socks for about 10 minutes (no joke) so they could
put it through the scanner. Jesus. What a bunch of morons. Anyway. I've not really been doing anything else. Work
and the usual. I went to visit my parents for X-mas. Stayed home for New Years. I got a PS2 from my parents for x-mas,
so I'm rather happy with that.
12-03-2001
Not much going on, it seems as if I'll be going on a business trip to Detroit, MI
and Chigaco, IL. I get to have my ass probed by the airports, what fun! I wear
steal toed boots, and that always sets off the stupid metal detector, so I'm
fairly screwed. They'll probably want me to take off my shoes. I hope i remember
to wear matching socks that day. I went back to North Bend/Coos Bay for thanksgiving
last week, that was fairly fun. I spent the time with friends and got a little tipsy
one night.
09-19-2001
So this is for all those people who were screaming at me for not updating my news section. I didn't know you cared. This
new stupid virus is annoying the hell out of me, I have to actually use sed to filter out all the crappy code red and nimda
crap in my httpd logs. You can see how badly my server has been hit by those obnoxious things by going to
this link. Thrilling, yes? Anyway, I've not really been doing to much
outside of work. I am still considering going up to Seattle to see Matt, but I've been unable to allocate time for such an
trip. Ah well, someday...
07-02-2001
Another month, another post(of sorts). Been really busy at work, to the point that I've actually been rather stressed out.
Which is kinda rare for me to be. My parents came up and they bought me dinner, which is always good. My water bed popped
so I've been sleeping on my lay-z-boy. *sigh* Also, one of my friends, Scott, is hosting a Mud, and while it's not public
yet, it's so far been pretty cool.
06-06-2001
Went to a security conference a while ago, met jeff moss, the guy who started defcon. He was pretty interesting, he confided
that he likes w2k. I'm going camping this weekend with a co-worker and Margaret. I have to be sociable. being sociaable sucks.
I'm also going to take the last two of my vacation days and go up to visit matt on the weekend some day. maybe. other then
that, not much else has been going on.
05-10-2001
Not to much happening lately in my life. Matt (from nb/cb), my best friend, gave me a call at the office. So after work I
gave him a jingle to see whats up in his life. He's doing good, living with his new girlfriend up in Seattle. He installs
ATM machines or something and is basically enjoying himself. Not much else happening, my mom got a virus on her computer.
She laid a guilt trip on me about not comeing up to fix it for her. I told her it would cost 100/hr plus drive time.
I don't recomment anyone try to charge their mother's for services. *sigh*
03-29-2001
Okay, so it's been a few months since I last updated the news section. So Sue Me. Not much has been happening, mostly I've
just been sitting around. Finally managed to get my home network up and running a while back, which was a good thing. As of now,
i'm still keeping gawd.net, deadreality.com, mrmud.org and such still here on this box at the office. That might Change, of course.
No plans really comeing up. Going to a co-workers 21st birthday party on saturday, having an office game day this friday(WOO HOO)
and I finally got my hands on Black & White. That game totally rocks!! It took me 7 hours to get to the second 'level'. Anyway,
Nu Tech is going to rent a house on a beach for the fourth of July. I can't wait! Boom-Boom's and a beach. What more could someone
ask for? Thats whats new/old/incomplete in my life.
01-30-2001
Well, this wednesday I'm going to see A Perfect Circle in concert with Margaret. Should be rather fun, They sold out of floor
seats though so I have to settle for balcony seats. I'm kind of annoyed that it happened on a wednesday night, but I guess
it's better then this weekend, because I'll be on emergency tech call. I got a new stereo in my car, I guess it's top of the line.
It's a kenwood Excolon (or something like that.) Anyways, thats it.
01-04-2001
Not much to say, spent x-mas down in north bend/coos bay with my family and friends. came back and started working. woo hoo.
Email count when I returned: 1500. bleh.
11-20-2000
Well, my thanksgiving plans consist of eating thanksgiving dinner with Margaret. She is kind enough to cook me something. I'm a
bit scared, because I think she's the same sort of cooker as I am. (lets stick it on the burner and see what happens) ah well.
I'm not visiting my parents this TD because I have to stick around the office to make sure nothing breaks. Ah Well. Tool's new
box set will be coming out on 12/12/2000, which is _very_ cool. I guess its going to be called 'slavial' or something of the sort.
I was sick for two days from work this last week, and when I cam back I had 707 emails waiting for me. 350 emails a day.. I never
knew I got so much. *sigh*
11-01-2000
My holloween was spent over at an intel conferance. I got to play with their new product line n stuff. Then I went to my bosses
house. Then I played games. WeeHaa. I'm getting a new computer at the office, so I'm going to gloat here. It is: dual 800 P!!! w/
255M of sdram, on a tyan thunderbolt+, with LVD scsi on board which will be connected to my LVD 18 gig HDD. Of course, the sound is
on board, so I don't have to worry about that.. the Video card is a Radeon 64(which is cool cause it has on board DVD decompression)
phew. I am also toying around with the idea of splitting gawd.net off from mrmud.org and making it something else. Not sure what, however.
And, by the way.. no one ever reads this section anyways, so thats why im kinda long winded.
10-07-2000
Nothing much really going on today, or over the past few days. Work has been hectic(in a good way though) so I've been pretty
busy there. Went out to see a movie last night, (Meet The Parents) it was funny as hell. I've been doing pretty good lately, and
I have plans to buy a car sometime in the future. *sigh* The stereo in my van is starting to crap out, I can't tell if its the amp
or if its the cd player, but either way it went from going *BOOM BOOM BOOM* to going *plink plink plink*. Hmm.. and thats just about it.
09-20-2000
Well, nothing much going on in my life, mostly just sitting around and reading. I've decided that my top three favorite
are: David Zindell, Robin Hobb, and Robert Jordan. OH! I also actually got some karma on slashdot! WOO HOO! (okay.. thats
not really news worthy, but after 10 posts and no karma, I was getting a bit discouraged)
08-23-2000
My best friend Matt stopped by, he
was in Portland, he and his girlfriend bunked at my place. And thats it!
08-15-2000
Found out today that MrMud.com and MrMud.net is registered to a Mr. Mud.. HAND SOAP! and whats more, THEY ripped off
my fanclub idea!! what the FUCK is up with that?! I'd like to state for the record that I was around long before this
god damn hand soap.. and my page is cooler too. BASTARDS! Anyways, I wonder how long it will be before i get a "cease
and desist" letter from some big ass cooperation telling me that I can't use mrmud.org anymore. Don't worry, faithful
netizens, i'll put it in the trash like the rest of the 'cease and desist' letters one gets while owning two domains.
(haha .. just kidding.. sort of..)
08-12-2000
Happy Birthday to me.
08-11-2000
Well, I redid the CGI for the fanclub sign up.. its much cooler now. yeay. they are redoing the office outside, so there is dust
everywhere. could be worse, I suppose. I finally set up my waterbed at the place im living.. Joy. It's nice to sleep on a bed and
not the floor. Thats all in my world.
07-07-2000
Well, I managed to survive another fourth of july. Not bad, considering that where we blew up the 'works, the guys
neighbor was complaining about the chunks and bits that had fallen on her roof top. As usual, we had a gluttionus time
and blew lots of things up. Mostly, though, we had fun. We also did a Bar-B-Que. Ah, the joy of roasting flesh on
an open fire!
06-15-2000
Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle totally kick ass in concert. I recommend ANYONE to see them. Even if you are a 90 Year old
grandma(I don't recommend getting in the mosh pit though). Trent Reznor is really emotional when he's singing. The really amusing
thing about the whole thing, however, was all the people wearing TOOL shirts because A Perfect Circle was playing. (the lead singer
from APC is the lead singer from TOOL) The reason why this is funny is because APC is NOTHING like TOOL, aside from it being just
as cool and insightful as they.(but in a different way) Anyways, NIN did a really kick ass job performing and it was a lot of fun.
05-22-2000
Well, I did get tickets to the APC/NIN concert. Kick Ass. I am also going to go visit my parents this weekend
so that should be fun. I am currently reading "The Illuminatus!" trilogy, and next on my list is "Principa Discordia: or,
how I found the goddess and what I did to her" I've still noticed that no one really reads this section, aside from myself.
I guess no one really cares about "news" or something.. Oh well, Someday....
05-07-2000
well, I guess I should update this silly thing. My ventures are kinda interesting, I went out to Las Vegas
a while ago for a week, on a business trip. It was all business, the only thing we did recreation wise was
45 minutes of poker and waited in line at the stratosphere for the bigshot to break right before we got on
it. *sigh* ah well. I found out that APC(A perfect circle) is going to be playing in portland, so I'm going
to get tickets. Oh yeah, NIN will also be playing as a nice kick too. (APC is opening for them). The Smashing
Pumpkins will be playing as well, so I'm also going to attempt to get tickets to them. I've been sick for a
week, with some sort of really ... odd affliction. It seems like strep but i coughed a lot and even threw up
in the office parking lot. (it was also projectile, never done that before) Thats what I've been doing. Also:
Fight Club is out, go see it and look at all the purty themes and sub-themes. A truely well thought out movie.
4-2-2000
Still in the process of moving. yes, I know im a bit of a sloth. Thats because moving totally sucks. Went out last night, I
had fun. Got good and drunk. I didn't drive though, so its all good. Some chick tried to teach me how to dance. She said you
need to wiggle a lot. I wiggled, but I didn't feel like I was dancing. Ah well, computer geeks and dancing don't mix, I
suppose.
3-15-2000
Well, its been almost a month and normally, you'd think that that would mean I have a lot of news. Well, I don't. I am moveing, so thats
kinda taking up some of my time. I like my new place, its kinda hard to decide whether to call it a duplex or an apartment.
So far, I've been doing the move slowly. I did my chairs and bookcase and such on Saturday, with the help of Kelly and his wife,
Barbara. Muchos Kuddos to those two. I moved some of my books on tuesday, and then worked some more. (now going on 22 hours at the time
of this writing, 7:16am) Why am I working so long today? Did a site set up, everything went wrong, as usual. People learned not to
argue with me when I said it would probably take more then 6 hours. 3 hours, indeed, HA! So now im back, and awaiting the power
company to stop by so we can upgrade our power grid. (wheee) of course this means I have to be present so they don't gibbonize it
as well as so can I calm all the fears of the clients. Wow.. that was more news then I expected..
2-20-2000
Hung out with some friends from north bend/coos bay, actually, he used to be my boss. wicked, eh?
I showed him quake, he got his ass kicked. im glad i don't work for him anymore >:)
2-7-2000
Five Words: "Quake three arena kicks ass" My sound card is now working after 5 months of the dorks not supporting dual procs on windows NT.
Thats been the best news so far this term. Moved my mp3's over to a share drive so no more ftp access to them. Not like to many people
used the FTP server anyways. Mores the pity for them. Thats just about all thats been goin on.
Quote of the day: "you are soooooo not normal, nick" -Michelle
1-31-00
Got a palm top on saturday. They kick ass! a must have for people who hate pens and paper but want to maintain lists. My friend felt
better on sunday, so I'm kinda more relaxed. Got a whole slew of projects going on for work, at last check i was working on 10 projects.
Not much else goin on.
1-29-00
Well, one of my friends broke her leg AND got sick with something AND broke up with her boyfriend. So i've been busy helping her out
and getting her food and such. Work has been going good; went to two seminars on 1/27/00 and 1/28/00, one regarding organizational
skills and one regarding firewalls. The former was 4 and a half hours, the later 6 hours. Gotta love 'em. I actually enjoyed myself.
1-22-00
Added the spiffy news graphic. Got to move some things around. taking the day off and reading. Crazy, eh?
1-21-00
Still not much happening. Mostly been working and such. Decided to read a cisco book. It's about 1000 pages. I wish I could
say I was amused, but im not. On the good side, it might be able to allow me to convince my boss that I should go to Las Vegas with
him to help set up a cisco router. I doubt it, but you never know til you try, right?
1-13-00
Damn, nothing blew up. Bummer. Oh well, I survived the new year, more or less. I don't remember to much of it. I went up to seattle on the
6th to go do a site setup. Twas a disaster. came back 27 hours later. So far, I think only one person has read this section. DAMN YOU! WHERE ARE YOU ALL??
got a Korn cd, first time i've bought one. It's okay, I like the one song off of it. Got some more books. Annoyed my roomate by reading aloud to him.
12-31-99
Well, I decdided to get one news article in before everything blows up. yee haa. Anyways, Me and my roomate are going to get smashed tonight
what a good and original way of bringing in the new years, eh? Ah well, I guess life is good. By the way, if any humans of the female
persuasion feel like stopping by, feel free. We won't mind. Anyways, we're off.
12-29-99
Well, I just got back from vacation. Went to kansas to go see my cousins and such. I've not seen them in over 5 years.
It's funny how people grow up. I had a good time, I got lots of cool stuff for x-mas. I also went to go see my
first professional football and hockey game. I enjoyed the hockey game more, but I did get to see a referee tackle a lineman at the football game.
Rather amusing, if you ask me. Anyways, I'm doing this instead of reading the 900 some emails i've recieved while I was gone(no joke). See? two entries withen a month!
Aren't you all proud of me???
12-16-1999
Started News Section. Updated thoughts. Toyed with the idea of writing a cgi in C so I can do this over the web, rather then editing the html file everytime.
Not much happened today. Added software to a clients server. Returned some phone calls. Made some phone calls.
